We have flown to the moon and circled the globe millions of times, yet we still cannot solve the issue of poverty in a world full of intelligent minds. The problem is not money—there is plenty of money to fund solutions and help people off the streets. The problem is the management and execution of those funds. The plan that has been in place does not work. When a shelter is filled to capacity, the only option left is often the street, and that is a hard truth.When we care a little more—and ensure that the money intended to help people truly helps them—we create real change.Through creative collaboration and compassionate understanding, we can support those who are struggling. It is not always easy to get back on your feet. Life takes its toll. The mind can become severely impacted by mental health issues, domestic violence, and environmental factors. We need the collective to reach out so others can rise up.Despite all the things that seem to separate us, we are still 99.9% the same. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring. With the good also comes the difficult, and sometimes reality is hard to face. If it’s not addressed, the problem doesn’t go away—people remain stuck.
